REQUIREMENT TO CLIMB No prior permit required to climb 4. REQUIREMENT TO JOIN (To determine and ensure fitness for a whole day of climbing. Honor system: No proof required) a. Day hike within the last 3 months, or b. 5k run in 40 minutes within the last 3 months but not within 3 days prior to the event, or c. DETAILED ITINERARY 0400am Assembly at Fairview Terraces main entrance drive way 0430am ETD for jump off, breakfast along the way (somewhere in Cogeo) 0630am ETA jump off at Brgy San Andres, Tanay, Rizal, breakfast, secure guide, pay fees, briefing and final preparation 0700am commence trek 0800am Duhatan Ridge 0900am Mapatag Plateau 0930am Ranyas (the summit), photo opp, rest 1000am Commence descent 1100am Back at Duhatan Ridge, lunch, proceed to Kay-Ibon Falls 1130am ETA Kay-Ibon Falls, swim 1215pm Back at Duhatan Ridge 0130pm ETA jump off point, wash up 0200pm ETD for Manila 0400pm ETA Fairview Terrraces 8. WHAT TO WEAR a. Appropriate hiking apparel (Recommended: Dri-fit shirt, hiking pants, arm sleeves and leggings if wearing shorts for protection against cogon/talahib and other tall grasses) b. Hiking or trail running shoes. Hiking sandals are acceptable depending on comfort and durability. 9. WHAT TO BRING a. Primary Day pack (fully water-proofed with day hike essentials) Water in reusable container (volume based on consumption, ideally 1.5 liters) Packed lunch in reusable container Snacks/trail food Umbrella/raincoat Arm sleeves/leggings Gloves Cap/visor Headlamp with extra batteries First aid kit and personal medicine Eco-bag Groundsheet b. Secondary Sandals/slippers Extra clothes Wind-breaker/jacket Trowel 10. HOW TO GET THERE (Although the itinerary was designed with own vehicle, below is how to get there by commute) a. From Aurora Blvd in Cubao, take a jeepney going to Antipolo Cogeo. Drop off at Cogeo Gate 2 or Cogeo public market. b. At Cogeo Gate 2, take a jeepney going to barangay Sampaloc. Tell driver to drop you off at Batangasan at km 51. c. Take a tricycle to jump-off in barangay San Andres. Tell the driver that you are going to Mt. Batolusong. 11.
